Edibility - Poisonous ( if eaten in large quantities )
Stem has ring, flakes on cap
Gills - crowded; off-white
Mycorrhizal with birch or spruce, usually
on acidic soil. In Eastern North America,
the cap can be different shades of orange. Often found in troops, sometimes in fairy
rings.
